Lagos

Known the world over for Afrobeats, a fast-growing, high energy electronic music scene is now emerging.

Lagos is famous for Afrobeats, but a new electronic scene is growing: built around events rather than venues. Despite Nigerian laws against same-sex relationships, many reported electronic events feel increasingly safe for LGBTQIA+ people. But going out is expensive, there are still safety concerns, and careers are hard to sustain without government funding.
